What the price includes
The single payment covers everything needed to put the finished document in your inbox:
- The uncertified 3-year driver record itself: your licence status, class, expiry, convictions, suspensions and current demerit points from roughly the past three years.
- Delivery as a PDF to the email address you provide, ready to save, print or forward.
- A receipt you can use for an expense claim if an employer asked you to obtain the record.
There is no charge to start a request, no fee for the email delivery and nothing recurring. If you order once; you are billed once.
Why record types are priced differently
Ontario does not issue a single driving record. It issues several, and they are not interchangeable, which is why price varies depending on what you actually need.
Uncertified 3-year record
The everyday version, and the one insurers and employers ask for in the overwhelming majority of cases. It is produced electronically and delivered as a PDF, which is why it is the fastest and least expensive to obtain. This is the Ontario drivers abstract available online here for $19.99.
Certified record
A formally certified copy, generally required only for court or certain legal matters. Certification involves physical production and postage rather than an instant electronic document, so it costs more and takes considerably longer. See certified versus uncertified records.
Complete driver record
Covers your entire driving history rather than the recent three-year window. Requested far less often, usually in legal contexts or where a full history is specifically demanded.
Driver licence history
A different document altogether; it tracks licensing status over time rather than convictions. People often request it by mistake when they wanted an abstract. The difference is set out in driver abstract versus licence history.
Ordering the wrong record is the expensive mistake
The cost that actually catches people out is not the price of the record; it is paying for the wrong one and having to start again. If an insurer, employer or lawyer asked you for a document, ask them which version they accept before ordering rather than guessing from the name.
In practice, if nobody has specifically told you they need a certified copy, the uncertified 3-year record is almost certainly what is wanted.
How payment works
Payment is handled entirely by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe’s own secure checkout and never touch this site, and there is nothing stored against your name for future billing.
You review the full amount on Stripe’s page before anything is charged, so there is no possibility of a surprise total. If you change your mind at that point, closing the page costs you nothing.
If something goes wrong

How much is a 3-year Ontario driver abstract?
Through this service the uncertified 3-year Ontario driver record is a single payment of $19.99 CAD, which includes the record itself and delivery of the PDF to your email. There is no subscription and no additional charge.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price shown is the total charged. There is no account fee, no delivery charge and no recurring billing. You pay once for the record you requested.
Why do different driver records cost different amounts?
Ontario issues several distinct records, the 3-year uncertified record, certified copies, complete driver records and driver licence histories. They contain different information and involve different production, so they are priced separately.
Do I have to pay again if my order cannot be completed?
No. If a record cannot be produced for your order, you receive a full refund. You are never charged twice for the same request.
Can I expense a driver abstract if my employer asked for it?
Often yes. Employers who require a driving record as a condition of hiring will frequently reimburse the cost, and some pay for it directly. Your emailed receipt is normally enough for an expense claim, so keep it.
