What the record can include
A CVOR Driver Abstract summarizes safety information associated with a driver while operating heavy commercial vehicles in Ontario. Depending on the driver’s history, it can include commercial vehicle inspections, safety-related convictions and collisions from the previous five years.
It can also show the driver’s licence class, conditions, status, expiry date and medical due date. This makes it a different product from the standard three-year personal driver abstract.
Three CVOR records that are often confused
- CVOR Driver Abstract: the five-year individual driver product available through this service.
- CVOR Level 1: a public summary of a commercial carrier’s safety record.
- CVOR Level 2: a more detailed carrier-only record with a different ordering and delivery process.
If somebody requested a CVOR document from you, confirm that they need the driver version before ordering. Our CVOR and regular driver abstract comparison explains the difference in more detail.

Frequently asked questions
What is a CVOR Driver Abstract?
It is a five-year record connected to an Ontario driver’s licence that summarizes commercial-driving collisions, convictions and inspections recorded while that driver was operating in Ontario. It also shows licence status and medical due date information.
Is this the same as a regular driver abstract?
No. A regular driver abstract is generally a three-year personal driving record. A CVOR Driver Abstract covers five years of commercial-driving events and is a separate document.
Is this a carrier Level 1 or Level 2 abstract?
No. This service is for the individual CVOR Driver Abstract. Level 1 and Level 2 products concern a commercial carrier’s record and require a different ordering process.
How will I receive the record?
The completed record is delivered as a PDF to the email address entered on the order form. Most successful orders are completed within minutes, although occasional processing delays can occur.
What information do I need?
You need the driver’s full name, Ontario driver’s licence number, email address, country, province or state, and postal or ZIP code.
