Information the record can include
- The driver’s name and licence number
- Licence status, class and expiry date
- Conditions or restrictions attached to the licence
- The current demerit point total
- Active fine suspensions
- Relevant convictions from the previous three years
- Suspensions and reinstatements from the previous three years
The exact contents depend on the individual driver. Someone with no recent convictions or suspensions will naturally have less activity shown than someone with recent entries.
What the 3-year abstract does not provide
A standard 3-year driver abstract is not a complete lifetime driving history. It is also not a collision report, insurance claims report, vehicle history, or complete timeline of every licence renewal and class change.

Why people request it
A 3-year abstract is commonly requested for employment involving driving, insurance conversations, rideshare or delivery applications, volunteer driving and personal record checks. The receiving organization decides which record type and format it accepts.
Uncertified does not mean incomplete
